As they get old and deteriorate they will begin to slip and the VCR will not fully load. Contains all six belts, as well as the idler tire. The most common symptom of a bad idler tire is a no play situation. The VCR will accept a tape properly, load the tape around the video head then shut down after a few seconds. Contains all belts, as well as a replacement idler tire and pinch roller. If your pinch roller is over four or five years old it probably needs replaced. An inspection of the pinch roller can help determine if it needs replaced. If it has a hard glaze on it or the capstan shaft has a black build up on it, the pinch roller has probably been slipping.
